Hey,

I am trying to record vocals after laying out a guitar track but when I am listening to the headphones I get a choppy playback. It's hard to describe, but the guitar track is a bit choppy when I'm listening in the headphones to record. Almost as though my computer is having a hard time recording and playing at the same time?

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I'm using 2 gigz of Ram in an IBM thinkpad which I would think should be strong enough.

I have a Lexicon Alpha soundcard attached to the USB and the mic and headphones coming from that.

Thanks in advance,

So is the problem it won't record and then play anything correctly?

No - the problem is that I can't hear the guitar well as it has a lot of feedback and choppiness that I can't sing with it to record.

Beats me. Um, reads like.. you're playing this 'choppy feebackin' guitar thing and it's ..hard to sing to then?

No. It plays back fine when I'm only hitting the play key. But when I'm trying to record at the same time it comes out this way :(
