Problem no Midi playback using Audiophile 2496?

The Audiophile has a midi INTERFACE, not a SYNTHISIZER.

You need to pump the midi out to a keyboard, a rack mounted midi synth, or install a SoundBlaster card in your PC or use a software MIDI synth like the Roland SoftCanvas.

I use an Echo Mia and an SBLive together and it works very well for me.

I have midi connected in & out to my keyboard and I have recorded midi with my keyboard before.

What keyboard do you have?

What were the circumstances under which you recorded midi with your keyboard before?

If you try to record MIDI now, is there any MIDI data in the MIDI track, you just can't hear it when you play bacK?

Do you have your MIDI channel set to receive MIDI messages on the same channel that the keyboard is sending them on? Similarly is the keyboard set to respond to incoming MIDI messages on the channel you're sendfing them (if indeed any are being sent, and assuming it has sounds to respond to the messages with and is not just a controller keyboard)?

I got it fixed. But how do I get the midi tracks to play back through my monitors. Now it is playing back through my sythesizer.

C7 you obviously don't have a clue so don't waste time & bandwidth with your stupid posts.

Thanks for your intelligent response. So I need a SoftSynth program to be able to mix the midi tracks with the audio tracks. Seems easier just to sequence on my Synth & then record on one of the 16 audio tracks.

Is the DXi soft synth bundled with HS adequate or do I need something else? Am I correct that if I use the DXi soft synth that I can then mix the midi with the audio tracks for output through my studio monitors and can burn fully mixed CD's with all the midi & audio tracks mixed?

You don't want to understand, do you?

It depends on how well you want your MIDI to sound. If you are happy with the VSC-sounds, then use it!

Yes! Try it, you'll be suprised to find that it just might work! :D

Let's not chop eachothers to bits with the battle axe! ;)

Don't waste your time posting if you can't answer the question, C7 . I don't read your stupid posts.
