I was just curious about some additional pro tools plugins that could beneft me during the mixing proccess. Compressors, EQs, exciters, reverbs, etc.

Any plugin recomendations would be great! Thanks

you mean 3rd party plugins?

i use waves (legally) and love them,,but they are very expensive :(

there are plenty of good cheaper plugins about; hopefully someone will chime in.

Yes. 3rd party plugins. I am assuming that you put "legally" because they are easy to obtain ILLEGALLY?

What type of plugins are they? Compressers, EQ...??

well, i'm on mac, and as far as i know,,the ilok is piracy proof...

for your advanced notice, discussing illegal software is a bannable offense around here......not that you would anyway...

personally, i have the platinum bundle which contains a whole range of compressors, limiters, reverbs, eqs, multiband compressors, choruses and a few others like stereo imagers and flangers and stuff

like i say,,other people may be able to steer you down a cheaper route (and not necessarily better or worse plugs), but if you're interested in waves, their site gives you good info on each individual plugin.

Waves makes all kinds of plugins eq comps reverb blah blah. Go to their website an have a look. I think it's waves.com but do a search.

Also check out wave arts plugins. You get some awesome stuff and not a bad price tag. People don't talk much about them. But I really like them. And the demo is free.

Massey has some great plug ins for a reasonable price.

McDSP do some great plug ins (fairly expensive though). Their reverb "Revolver" plugin is fantastic.

Some of the Digidesign stuff is great (their bundled EQ is really good, I love it), but the bundled compressor is crap IMO, take a look at their Smack! plug-in. Great compressor, it can be more of an effect than just a dynamic range controller sometimes, which can sound awesome. The free bundled Gate/Expander is also really good. And if you have Pro Tools 8, the AIR collection is really good.

Sonalksis make my favourite compressor. The SV-315 MkII. I love it. It's so transparent. I'd highly recommend this. They also have a really nice EQ and Gate.

I've also gotten to use the IK Multimedia Classik Studio Reverb collection - 4 plugins: Hall, Room, Plate, and Inverse. I love them. They're simple if you want, and they're advanced if you want.
