Ok here goes.
I've been recording slowly over time with Pro Tools and the sessions have been getting larger with some plug-ins and a few busses. I've bounced to disk before with the occasional "bounce handler can't keep up error" but have always been able to increase the H/W buffer size and bounce the file to disk.
Well now I can't seem to bounce to disk and I'm trying to figure out if it's my CPU that I need to upgrade or my RAM? There is one more thing that doesn't' make sense to me and maybe someone can take a stab at it.
You see it won't let me bounce my session but when I loaded the "demo Session" that came with Pro Tools "which is much larger) it plays and bounces to disk with out any problems. I would think that if I can't bounce to disk with my session it shouldn't be able to do it with another session that is bigger and more complex then my own, right?
What I'd like to know is if I should upgrade my CPU or get some more Ram? I have a 1.7ghz celeron with almost 700 MB of RAM. If I do upgrade will this get ride of the "bounce to disk problem"?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Almost forgot, I'm running Pro Tools 6.1 on windows xp.

That could be the reason my CPU has held up until now (i'm assuming). The computer I use for recording is just to do that so I make sure that all other processes that could run in the back ground are shut off. What version of Pro Tools are you running and what's your PC setup Chris? Have you had any bounce to disk problems?
So you all know what that means. I need to get a new Motherboard, CPU and RAM....I got so burned on my current "studio computer" that I'll be licking the wounds for a long time to come.....shit, shIT SHIT!!!!!!!!
