i have a score to print out and it is 10 bars long and 16 instruments, all in one clef. none of the presets work for me to arrange it printably. is there a way around this, or am i stuck.

PA9 (and SONAR for that matter) are pretty sucky for printing out useable sheets of notation.

is there any way to transfer the sheet music or a free program that would work with .bun files to print out music that would include lyrics and title, artist, copyright, and sub-title.

Free? I doubt it. Such a tool also wouldn't be likely to support bun files, just MIDI files.

Band in a Bos can make some halfway decent lead sheets with a little effort but there's not a ton of flexibility there. For the real thing you need to get something like Sibelius or Finale.

thanks, i don't know if i wanna pay hundreds. i was just thinking about printing out some sheets to a little project i'm doing. thanks for the help though. :D

When you say "all in one clef", do you mean all the parts are written in, say, the treble clef, or do you mean that they're all in one track?

If the former, no problem. If latter, you'll have to split out your parts to different tracks.

Two features that will help you: 1) from "Print Preview" on the File menu, you can change the size and spacing of the staffs; 2) the Info option on the file menu lets you input title, composer, comments, etc..

It's far easier to create the music in Cakewalk than it is to get usable sheet music out of it...

i meant that they are all in either bass or treble clef, but none are in a grand staff (bass and treble) and i tried every size and space option and input my title and misc, so i guess i need to convert to MIDI and use Finale.

... i guess i need to convert to MIDI and use Finale.

Uh.. just in case... you aren't expecting to get notation from audio tracks, are you?

Just checking...

Maybe it's your terminology... the MIDI data is already in MIDI form within a SONAR project, you need to export it to standard MIDI file format to use with other apps. There's nothing to convert...

notation from audio?

please god tell me nobody has tried this. anyways, i meant save as MIDI, but notation from audio? as awesome as it sounds, in the famous words of Keanu Reeves:

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
