Captain Sea Boots
Hey folks. I am all set to make my traps this weekend. I am going with a design similar to what Milkman used in the link:
http://will.wackyville.tv/acousticpanels/acoustic.html
But I am just gonna staple fabric to both sides. I like the idea of being able to take some off the wall and use as gobos as needed. My question is this. Since I will just have the fabric covering each side, the edges will be exposed. I will be using muslin for my fabric, and it looks like the edges will fray if I do this. Any idea on how to prevent frayed edges on the fabric?

Fold the edges. Cut the cloth about an 1/2 to an inch extra on each side, wider and longer than what you need, then you fold the excess under. Kinda like pant cuffs only folded on the inside. Or the hem on curtains.

I'm just glad this thread isn't about natural child-birth!

Ha, I thought about that when I looked at the title again. Good old episiotomies!

A note: When you fold it over, run a cardboard strip in the fold to help keep the staples from ripping the fabric over time.
