what do you guys think about the recordings of the songs here:
http://www.angelfire.com/emo/shackrockinc/links.html (dont let the link fool you, just a site to list my mp3's on...lol).

1 - recorded all tracks seperately.... 2 sm58 overhead, 57 on snare, crappy EV on bass drum.
2 - as many guitar tracks as neccacary, usually 2-3....miced with 1 sm57.
3 - bass amp miced with sm57

in the future, should i just go direct in with bass?

thanks, i'd love any comments you got. and maybe i'll repost once i get vocals.

Song #2:
I love the drums on it! They seem to be too loud though(as in way IMO). I can't hear the bass, and you might want to try and tune your guitars better before recording.

Very Happy Place:
Can I have your drummer? More bass drum needed IMO. You guys are deffinately gig worthy so I'd suggest taking a few and using the money for a bass hole mic.

what is IMO?
yeah, this was my first time doing "stero" drums like that.

as for guitar tuning - i know we noticed that after we were finished, but we did use a nice tuner....

i'll turn bass up - thanks

the drumer on a very hapy place is different guy (there were 2 different bands)....but yeah - in Cincinnati we got an overload of pretty tight good drummers (i am one of them...not to brag...haha).

anyone else? thanks!

ah i almost forgot. I just sold a wireless on ebay - and with that i'll be getting a new mixer and a bass drum mic....would you suggest shure beta 52 or AKG d112? ( see https://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40376 )
