I was hoping they would step through the various stages of a preamp and talk about what makes each stage unique. I am curious as to how the transformer affects the signal and why that "iron" sound can't be duplicated at a lower cost.
That comment about getting the parts of a Great River preamp for $250 would be nice if it were true.
