Preamp into Preamp??

Can you hook up a Tube preamp into a standard preamp with no problems?

The only reason to do this is that the preamp has an A/D converter.

You *can* do it, but it isn't advisable......... you'd be incurring a lot more noise and degradation running the signal thru 2 gain stages like that, particularly if they're not top-end pres.

What about using the line in with no gain......wouln't it act as a passthrough?

Preamp -> Line in is fine. You said the second unit is your soundcard, right?
