preamp and soundcard match

I was thinking of buying a Presonus M80 and putting it with the M-Audio Delta 1010. Would this be a good match? I am just wondering if I should maybe find a sound card that has ADAT in case I get another preamp that uses that??

How does the Presonus Digimax 96 compare to the M80, I see it has the ADAT outs.

If I buy a soundcard that has ADAT and other Ins can I use them together, like running thu the M80s analog and teh digimax's ADAT?
 
I might be buying a Presonus Digimax now. How do I detemine what kind of soundcard to put with it? Since the Digimax does A/D, can I still buy a soundcard advertises it does A/D? Or can you "choose" where the conversion happens?
