I currently have a Lexicon Omega Pre-Amp. It also acts as my sound-card, for my computer.
I'm hoping to upgrade, hopefully to get a more "crisp" or "airy" feel when recording vocals, on my new Shure KSM-32 mic. I guess I need a new soundcard/pre-amp.
I'd like to know the cheapest but most effective pre-amp/sound card to marry-up with my Shure KSM-32. I'll be using the Lexicon-Omega as a trade-in, so about how much will your suggestion cost, and what's your estimate on my trade-in?
To give you an idea of where I'll be trading, I recently got $100 for my 4-year old Rode NT-1A microphone, original tag $300.
Any help is greatly appreciated. If something comes with Adobe for free, that'd be huge. (the lexicon came with cubase, which i didn't use).
