I heard a pair of Event Tr 8's today....Pretty fuckin sick Ill say...But more geared towards hip hop I think....The idiot at The music store only plugged a synth in so I couldnt base it on much...But they were cool Id say...Behringers Truth series sounds better though still from what i gather....wish I could hear the dam things somewhere..

I was looking at the Truths too and though every review I've read say they sound like way more than they cost (300 at GC), but I got the same gripe in like half of the reviews: the RF shielding. Apparently it's horrible. I read about all these guys trying to mixdown and they were picking up Celine Dion......maybe i'll pick them up and see if its a serious problem. I've never had any problems with radio interference before.

I found a new one in the same price range I like...the MAudio BX5s. Anyone have them or know anything about them?

I have a pair of BX5's I really like. There's not a whole lot of bass, but if you know what's not there it's easy to mix around. The best thing I did for them was to buy some Auralex Mopads to de-couple them from the room. The difference was dramatic. They're great for the money.

my god i thought the guys in the mic forum had the best arguments but you guys take the biscuit!

fatdog you say people aren't giving you nuff repec' but let's be clear about the facts here:

- you asked a question a million guys asked before. yeah truths yeah m-audios yeah yorkevilles......you a post slut?
- then some guy has a laugh and you don't like it. fair enough.
- then you go crazy and start blazing your filthy mouth all over our screens.......and then have the cheek to blame it on someone else?
- fatlogstudios was hilarious

i hope your recordings are great and free from hiss and timing errors, despite the fact that you're gonna crawl all over my well-meaning ass any second.

if you feel strongly go find my 'maybe you should all read this' thread on the mic forum. it's about being nice to people. have a nice day!

yeah dude...
your right on.
we all suck anyway.
Nice of ya to bring these 3 week old problems back up to the surface.

i've been looking in this price range too. the reccomendations are still the same and please search the forums if you're unsure. i'd love to hear the yorkies but can't get them over here so i've got the behringers (which i'm highly suspicious of due to the company's poor products), the m-audios and as a wildcard the alesis ones to go and listen to.

the fact is that if your rooms aren't treated it isn't gonna make a scrap of difference anyway - the +/-1% of accuracy is going to be lost in a normal asymetrical room and sat on a desk or cupboard anyway. that's why you just have to go with the ones you like the most.

I'd just like to say this, whatever you get in that price range will probley be good for what your looking for. Just find the ones that sound the best to you and buy them. One thing I have found is to always check your recordings on different systems. Ex. car cd player, home stereo, the neighbors stereo. You'll get a better feel overall and know what to do in the studio.

Yikes

Wow. I just ran a search on this my favorite BBS, and after all the time I've been on this board, I think I've finally met the meanest cat around, and it's this FatDog guy.

What a meeeeeeeean guy.

Go away, please. This is a nice sandbox and you are making it yukky. :(
