In the $400 price range (perhaps a bit more - say $450) you might wish to consider the M-Audio BX8s.

Mine are supposed to come in tomorrow.

Mine too.The first pair had shipping damage but, I've been using them until the new ones show up.

Quit teasing me barefoot! If I had the dough....I would have a pair of those beauties... Have you thought about "Mastering" specific ones....? Schweet Dood :)

SoMm

Some might argue whether or not JBLs are top of the line.http://barefootsound.com/mm12.htm

I never said JBL"s are top of the line !!!!...IF YOU READ THE POST RIGHT YOU WOULD HAVE UNDERSTOOD THAT.
WHAT I SAID WAS and I quote.. "PLEASE DONT SUGGEST TOP OF THE LINE JBL'S"......because I cant afford them
Meaning the top of the line JBL....Was that really hard to understand?

Jeezus ya gotta walk on eggshells 'round here eh?
wow.

Is this site more about Equipment collectors trying to outdo each other or musicians helping each other out while attempting to record music....The more I read posts the less I want to read posts.
This site has the award for "Most Opinionated Users" all wrapped up Id say.
Thanx everyone for the help.
And the unjust un-needed OPINIONS too I guess.

Woohh there FDS! Don't get your bloomers in an uproar!:D

Sorry to set you off man, but did you notice the >wink< in my post?

>wink< ;)>wink< ;)...... :)

you know.... blatantly taking someone's words out of context to serve your own end..... ??? ..... funny.... ha ha ha ...... and all that.......... ?..................... no? :o :( :)

i guess so...You purposely took what i said out of context?
Thats a good idea.
If thats what ya meant great...my mistake.
But forgive me....Every time I ask a question around here I get
"throw your behringer gear in the trash can"
"that stuff sucks"
"your gear is junk"
"this is better" "dont waste your money"
Im sure Im not telling you anything you dont already know.
And then your jbl comment I figured went right along w the current trend.
If not...then i am most apologetic.
It just gets old ya know?
Ive been a semi -pro, or full pro musician for like 10 years now, Im no longer in a live act so Im building a home studio that will eventually be a full on recording studio for local bands in my area. And just found this site and thought It would be a really cool thing to be involved in.
Now Im reading post after post by a bunch of elitist prix that just wanna brag about their latest gear and put mine down for some stupid childish reason.Ive actually read posts here where someone asks a question and the response literally is nothing more than a cut down.
Im involved in alot of things in my life and belong to other forums for different subjects, and this place just sucks for getting questions answered. Its too bad.
Dont get me wrong Ill brag too,,,But it will be about the music I write record and sell not what latest goo goo gaa gaa gadgets my studio now houses.,

And dont all of you go getting offended, I know your not ALL prix.

again...If I misunderstood ya, my bad.
peace.....J

No problem. Sorry for cluttering your thread. That was my bad.:)

Btw, I don't have any experience with budget monitors, but there do seem to be a lot of Yorkville YSM1p fans. I haven't heard them, but even appearances can tell us some things. The Yorkvilles look like they are a little larger than most budget monitors. A larger box volume indicates that they MIGHT have a better controlled bass response.

For what it's worth.

Hmmm? So, let me get this straight. I honestly apologize..... give you a bit of technical input about loudspeaker design to help guide you in your decision.... plus benefit of the doubt that you might even understand it..... then, you proceed to trash me ... again?

Wow, at first I thought you were just a little touchy. Now, it's a toss-up between you being an idiot or an asshole ....or maybe both.

(By the way, I can see that you need things spelled out very clearly. So, unlike my other posts, this one actually is an insult. Brain twerp. )

Barefoot, you didnt offer any technichal imput, but rather an ass-
sumption about a product youve never tried.
This whole mis-understanding could have been avoided had you honored this bbs's policy of NO SPAMMING.
