Hi guys,

Right I just need some help really with positioning my monitors next to my computer. Its only a small room so can’t put them on the wall. I have them on proper monitor stands.

The questions are:

1. Is it better to face the monitors slightly towards you at and angle, or have the straight towards the back of the room.
2. They need to be inline with you head so the sound travels straight to your ears.

Thank you!

the monitors and your head should form an equallateral triangle, and the monitors should be turned to aim along those lines.(pointing at your head).
Yes, they should be at ear level.

Additionally, if possible, about 3-feet behind the monitors, and 2-3 feet each side of the monitors away from the back and side walls respectively is a good starting point.

When you get it dialed you'll hear it. The width of the sweet spot may only be a couple inches each side of your head, or a bit wider depending how you point the speakers.

As your setting this up listen to a CD you are VERY familiar with.

Set up your triangle and try a few different "widths". Might take an afternoon of active listening, maybe less.

Have fun! :)
