As a consumer, this sounds really good. Reminds me of some older Sir Paul tunes.

Already said what I think of the song in general terms. Witty lyrics. Been listening to it a lot. Some things I'm noticing at the moment: I like the counterpoint of the bass line. It's not just a supporting sonority but a well crafted independent line. Something about the 1-7-6... descending bass at the start of a piece - whether it's Bach or pop - always pulls me in as a listener. At 1:48 I like the layering of sonorities in the arrangement as the parts build. Starts with a thinner texture and builds to give a feeling of added intensity to the last section without having to add more parts and change the sense of unity in the instrumentation. Pretty crafty. I like the drum part’s feel when it hangs back from the beat on occasion.
The piano sounds maybe a little too rich and perfect, if that can be any kind of criticism. HA. Guess what I'm thinking is that if I could sense the pianist "working" more in the playing it'd give it a more personal dimension that fits the "on stage" subject and mood of the lyrics.
I'm hearing the ac gtr part with a different angle than what famous beagle mentioned. I like the writing but there's something about the guitar's high freq edge that increases as its arpeggio figures rise (first at :10 and :12). Makes it stand out well against the piano's similar figure but seems just a little too hard edged to me in relation to the sweet sound of the overall arrangement.
Hoping you post more of your work.

The only part that really bothered me was between 1:45 and 2:05. All the ride hits sound the same to me. A little variation there would make it sound less mechanical. But I admit I'm just nitpicking.Kafer said:DonF-I hear what you're saying about the drums....
