what am I recording onto? direct outs to a M-Audio Delta 1010. Record on the hard drive (2nd ATA 133 80gig/8meg cache) into Cool edit pro.
When tracked I import to cubase, send back out the Delta to the board and mixdown the L/R to minidisk. S/PDIF back in to wavelab, master and burn to CD.
"Alesis Studio32 and I'm chucking it out a window pretty soon! "
I use an alesis Studio 32 and don't really have any complaints. The pres and the Eq are usable unlike some mixers in the same price range plus you can't beat the routing features, which hold up against some of the larger more expensive mixers.
Would it be my choice if I had the cash for something like a Soundcraft Ghost? Not hardly but it gets the job done for me and my needs at the moment.
What's killing me is I also use the Alesis 32 because I track to 2 DA38's. I need the in line monitoring. I guess I could go to a 32 track board but that becomes overkill. I'd be happy to take suggestion on the 1K price range on what to get to replace it. I've had no major problems with it. It has some nasty crosstalk in the monitoring stage but it is a very useable board. I looked into the A&H but the 16 track board dosen't have all the features like the Alesis.
behringer mx3242x running 10 direct outs into an akai dps16. 8 from board to deck and 2 from board to halfcalf a/d to dps16=10. great board for the money.
Yamaha MG16/4 with two analog outs going to Audiophile 2496 RCA ins, and two outs going to TC Electronics M300, S/PDIF out to S/PDIF in on 2496 for 4 ins.
