I thought the vocals were fine too. The only thing I noticed that hasn't been mentioned is the double tracking on the guitars. It's not very tight, so much so that it might be intentional. But if it were me, I'd go for a tight double.

Great mix. Solid low end. Love the (highly unusual) snare sound.

I thought your vocals were really quite decent. The double (more?) tracked parts sounded pretty polished to me.

While I dug the growling rhythm guitar tone for this, I felt that the lead guitar could've used something. It sounded like it was coming from a small SS amp or something...I dunno, just kind of flat...needed more presence. Really a good solid mix of an enjoyable tune though.

I think the vox are OK. My only critique on them is that it sounds like you're straining yourself on the choruses. Relax a little there, and I think it'll be fine.

The vamp before the last verse could stand to be shortened.

I like the huge reverb on the snare!

Cool song. I like the big growly tone on the bass and rhythm guitar.

Thanks for the comment, Steve. As far as the vamp goes, I'm still not quite sure what to do with it. I really like the play on rhythm with the guitars during that part, but it's definitely missing something there. Hopefully I'll figure that out. Also - good call on the straining. Gotta hit the note without forcing it. That's one of the reasons I don't like the vocals on this one. I have a feeling the vocals on this song won't be much of a problem soon... *evil grin*

Definitely not tight, and that's exclusively because I suck on the guitar. I tried to get em' as tight as I could without wanting to kill myself, destroy my guitars, and burn my studio down. I really would love to be good at guitar, and am doing all I can to improve... Only time will tell. Good call, though. Thanks for the listen!

I gave absolutely no thought to the tone of the lead on this one. I literally plugged in my guitar, turned on my line-6, and used whatever it was set on from a clients' previous session. Luckily it didn't suck worse. I spent 2 friggin' hours on that crap-of-a-solo, and was about as musically frustrated as I've ever been, so I called it good, exported and uploaded to avoid deleting it and never trying it again. It was the first time I've ever even thought about trying to do a solo of my own.

Thanks for the comment and listen. Hopefully I can get someone else to do a better solo for me, but this song is really just for practice, so... It is what it is.

Nice warm beefy mix. I like your bass & guit tones. Guitar solo 's not too bad. You've heard Neil Young's one note solo? Doesn't need to be complicated to be cool

Thanks, Bulls! I really like the guitar tones, too. As far as the solo goes, growing pains... That's all they are... growing pains.

I like the vox on this. Truthful, intense. Mix is badass, wide. Big sound, I like the bass tone tons.

Does drag a bit, but not too bad. Guitar is maybe too clean. I would like to see/make the video. I think this track would lend itself to video well.

Thanks.
