I am thinking about adding an external rack mount compressor to my Pod Pro rig. More specifically I am thinking about running a 2-channel unit with one channel before the pod input and the other channel either after the pod or in the effects loop of the pod. My thought is that I want to be able to keep a lot of the picking characteristics but then still compress the overall signal to balance out the output volume. Is this crazy? Is the instrument level of my guitar into the line level input of a rack mount compressor going to be a problem? Specifically I am looking at a DBX 266.
