Hey y'all,

I've just started using Reaper after finally giving up on Mackie Tracktion 3 because it was too buggy.

The problem is that I can't get AmpliTube 2 to show up as a plug in Reaper. I was able to use it with Tracktion with no problem.

I've had no problem transferring other plugs to Reaper (just by telling Reaper where to look for them in Options>Preferences>VST). But AmpliTube 2 is a bit different from these other (freeware mostly) plugs in that it doesn't have a .dll file; it has an application file. Nevertheless, I've told Reaper where to look for this, and still nothing.

Any clues?

Thanks much

I have ampeg svx and amplitube metal and they both have a .dll. Maybe you are just looking in the wrong folder. Try searching for it in windows search. BTW you can use more than one path in REAPER by adding a ";" between path names.

Thanks for the response. I've looked all throughout Amplitube 2 and haven't seen one. But I'll look one more time with a windows search.

Wouldn't it be in the same folder as the application file though (I mean the overall AmpliTube 2 folder)?

Yes I know about the numerous paths in Reaper. Thanks.

The amplitude installer will place the .dll where you tell it, so it may be in the VST folder from traction, or it could have defaulted to Steinberg/vst folder. If you reinstall it, you will have the option of telling it which folder to use for VST's.

Thanks for the responses. I was able to get it working earlier this morning.
What happened was, when I uninstalled the Tracktion 3 program, I guess the AmpliTube .dll file got deleted, because I couldn't find a .dll file anywhere. This morning, I reinstalled AmpliTube, the .dll file showed up, and now it's working like a charm.
