Can someone please recommend a good compressor plug in? Preferably a hard knee, I've messed with endorphin a bit and haven't been able to get favorable results so far.

Thanx

Waves is putting out their diamon version... that'll do just fine i guess

Waves C1 and RCL comps are THE best ones out-there. Period. If I remember correctly the RCL was said to be as good as any outboard compressor at any price.

?Wave?

Damn, some of those Wave bundles are expensive!!!

Any recommendations on which compressor is better quality as opposed to price concerned?

Or which bundle (kinda out of my current price range though)!!!???

All I really need right now is a comressor, and maybe a limiter...
I can get by on the 1/4 assed choruses and reverbs I have for the time being.

(Dumb question) Did you guys buy yours (plug-ins) from them, or were you able to "share" that .dll file?

Thanx for responses thus far, and those I hope to follow...

I just sent you a private message (pm). Check it please.

waves are just about the best until you get a Uad-1.. nomad factory plugs aren't bad either.. they try to copy bomb factory some... but the plugs sounds good..

Thanx to all who replied.

This has helped immensely...

I think you can buy the waves plug ins as singles, too, instead of the full sets.

I poked around their website for a while trying to find a price on singles and didn't find one...

I just noticed that the minimum system requirements call for 512 ram, I only have 256.

How much of a hindrance would this be? Would it be possible at all to use with 256?

i'd recommend sonic timework CompressorX....i love it on snare and bass....and it works on everything else rather well

waves stuff is over rated IMHO...

even though the RCL is my go to compressor for vox...but thats about it...

I used it (Waves) with a 192 ram, 333 celeron pc and it worked fine ;)

I've used WAVES on a 256mb system. It'll work, but WAVES will tax you system.

Now does it tax the processor, it would seem this would be the case, and would more ram actually improve its performance/usage?

As far as installing the .dll's, I think you have to find the folder that your mult-tracking program uses/looks in. Mine for N track is labeled as plug-ins, with sub-folders for vst and direct x plugs.
(I think, it's been a while since I had to manually place anything there).

Nice, but how do you install them? I mean, I downloaded them, created a VST plugin folder, extracted the .dll's to the folder. Now what?

EddieRay - You have to register them with your VST adapter (I use Cakewalk VST Adapter v4.3.1 - I think Directixer 2.5 works too) then depending on your audio app you may have to refresh the effects list - Cool Edit makes you do that - Sonar doesn't.

Good VSTing !
