Please help me out. I am recording on a Macbook Pro using AUDIO KONTROL 1 interface by Native Instruments.

I plug my microphone into the line in/mic socket on the interface. I am using a quarter-inch chord that plugs directly in. Ideally I would like to run through a compressor but right now it's a direct, dry connection. I can't seem to figure out how to turn the mic volume up, it records too low, even with the input and output knobs turned all the way up. I tried tweaking with all the knobs, and still no luck. If anyone ever used one of these, please let me know. If needed be, I will go step by step

The line in/mic input is a combo socket that allows either line input (via a quarter-inch plug) or mike input (via an XLR). Get yourself an XLR lead for your mike and you should notice a big improvement in signal level.

Thank you, I will try that

Thanks alot. I will try that option.
