Ping Ponging tracks

I have a Fostex X-12 and i'm having a problem ping ponging, can anybody help me figure it out?

Plug the line out of the X12 into a stereo cassette deck, bounce all four tracks to a tape on there and then put the tape from the cassette deck into the X12.

Record over the two free tracks.
