mmm nice price anyone else thinking billie joe armstrong or razor light. good buy buddie

Cool guitar, is that tailpiece/bridge a compensated type-set up for better intonation? You are gonna love that P-90, I bought a Melody Maker several years ago and the P-90 is an amazing pickup-it can scream or sound sweet and chimey!

Here is the Melody Maker, with a single P-90 as well.........

I got my Epi LP Jr for $40 because the owner had dropped it and stripped one of the neck bolt holes. I took off the neck, used epoxy to fill the hole, re-drilled it and viola!

cheers guys really happy with it
can anyone tell me is it difficult to change the nut?i can't seem to come across any where that sells them though :/

@Anfontan: cracking looking guitar man really like it :D

It's not terribly difficult to do. I did it once and had no real experience with it before. I followed the step-by-step guide I found in a luthier book and achieved very good results (swapped plastic for bone). I would try something "pre-slotted" and be prepared for a bit of filing to get it right. Stewmac will have what you need, including any of the tools you need to do it right. You could pay a luthier, but where's the fun in that!? Looks like a regular LP nut will fit, yes?

Nice score. I love the double cutaways!

Drone.

ya i'm looking for the same nut that is on my other epi junior (1.1875inch)
the guy i bought it off told me he changed the but in it forgot to ask him did he still have it but i presume he could have just tossed it away when he was done with it
thanks man i'm a sucker for the double cutaway myself was delighted to pick it up for little money and so easily :D

For some great info on changing the nut, you should PM Muttley600, he is an outstanding luthier in the UK. If you have to cut the slots you will need special files that are fairly pricey....

Thanks TonyW1, the Melody Maker is my first P-90 guitar and has totally sold me on the P-90 for an all around pickup that can cover about any style of music you want to play..

Back in the late 70's, I had a Les Paul Jr. that was supposedly a '57 or'58 but it was impossible to nail down because a previous owner had broken the headstock off the neck, had it repaired and the serial # was sanded off. The repair was otherwise really well done, not invisible but the guitar was very playable. I had it appraised before selling and was assured that it was the real deal but the damage, repair and lack of serial # took any value out of it. I sold it to a friend for $350.00. I found the guitar was very limiting for a giging situation. Single pickup doesn't give you much variety and I really wanted a Strat or a Les Paul. I wonder where it is today?????????????
