pick ups

I am currently building a guitar and I want to get pickups that are going to sound heavy and hit hard. Medium distortion considering I run through a pedal and not super bright. I like the chunk and thickness. I like the newer hard core such as Devil Wears Prada or As I lay Dying. This is the sound I am looking to get. Any suggestions.

Bare knuckle Pickups. Almost as hot as actives, but passive, saves hassle. Warpig and Nailbomb have been praised a lot... I'm thinking Black dogs to my baritone..
