My patio cover for the studio is well under construction.
Its all framed up. I still have to shingle it, but its framed, decked, and the roofing felt is on.

On the "underside", I'm going to do a stained "bead-board".

Take your pick, which one do you like best?
1,2,3, or 4?

The colors are (1) Cherry, (2) Early American, (3) Pecan, or (4) Natural.

Michael,
I really like the natural because it should reflect more light. It should also be more transparent; ie, it won't be as noticeable as the darker ones.

Mike

PS: Put more pictures up on John's site!!!

Michael - IMO none of the above:)

I recommend either doing nothing and pine just dulls a bit and retains it's natural finish ........ or Lime Wash which I prefer. It finishes the timber but stops it from yellowing and will reflect light under your ceiling.

cheers

Oops, I go with the lime wash, as John suggests. I REALLY like that finish.

Those pine boards scream for a natural finish. I haven't ever seen the lime wash so can't comment on that.

Darryl......

OkAAAAaaaaay, already. You don't have to scream you big baby. :D :D

Number 2...

I think it fits the theme of the studio. In some areas untreated wood will mold because of humidity at the wrong time. If it was interior I would leave it natural pine. I did purple ;)

Yep!
I'm leaning between #2 or #3 myself, just because it fits the theme.
Intoduce too many design elements, and it can be chaotic.
