As far as the rest of the world, please understand that there are people whose sole purpose in life is see us, the US, dead. It is part of their warped credo to wipe us out. All you need is to remember 911 to see that it is true. I'm sorry if you don't believe it but I've seen enough and read enough and heard enough to know its true. It's sad but it renders the poem moot until their hearts and minds as well as others, can be changed.

3. Islam is quite a minority religion in China, mostly confined to the western, quite sparcely populated western regions.
4. Your Tiananmen referance has many parralles to the USA, including civil rights protests of the 50's and 60's, native american standoffs in the 70's, Vietnam war protests, womans temperance in the 20's, etc.
5. In our history we have been the equal of the greatest villians in history. Do you think all of the Native Americans that were living here 200 years ago just magically dissappeard. Maybe youi have taken time to notice the sad state of many blacks in this country, and the racism that still exists. The fact that blacks are given much longer prison sentances for the same crimes, are more likely to be stopped by police, are more likely to be turned down for loans and employment. I can go on and on.
6. Innocent until proven guilty - I'm sure all of the Japanese thrown in our internment camps in the 40's got that. And, with our new wonderfull homeland security in effect, no one is entitled to that priveledge. No one! There are hundreds of American citizens that have been arrested and held with no charge, no right to an attorney. Feel safer now?
7. Those morons who were ordered by Rumsfields cronies to torture and humiliate those Iraqi prisoners sure seem like 13'th century barbarians to me.
8. You make a huge mistake in saying that someone who disagrees with some US policies and politicians, and is aware of our checkered past, is somehow unamerican. You must take pride in "not knowing" about other cultures, countries, complex socio economic issues, the effects of US cold war stratagies on current world political issues, religious practices, and history in general.
