Phase Reverse? Polarity reverse?

This is possibly the longest thread I've ever read on polarity.


When someone could of just said, "look, man....just push in the switches until the shit sounds good to you".


The thread might of stopped at 10.
 
I agree that it does need to be qualified in order to make it incorrect, but this only goes to illustrate how useless and vague a term it is. Labelling it that way could cause confusion with people on what exactly phase is, a concept that for some people is hard to grasp, especially in it's real world implications(how it works when not using a sine wave).
 
What is so hard to understand that it simply reverses the phase of the signals polarity?
