I recorded this in my garage over the summer. All the instuments were recorded with microphones except for the bass which was plugged in. i recently found out however that a miced bass sounds pretty good. but i digress

The link goes to a main page in soundclick.
You need to go to your main admin page, select link, and then copy the link alongside the song name. Post that in your thread and you're away OR copy the link of your main music page.
Almost there cobber!

Some slightly out of tune elements but they work together well enough.
The vocals are just a little too Cure for me.
Ah, no - the out of tune elements are taking over at around 1.30.
Bas sis a little boomy - you might need to cut some of the bottom out of it.
The bvox work well.
The rhythm guitar is very jaunty.
The drums sound a little boxy and the snare a little distant but otherwise a good attempt.
Good bass lines.
When the lead is in tune it's not bad either.

I dig that bouncy bass, agree with Ray, vocals are very Robert Smith, which gives the song a strong Cure vibe...pretty cool as I haven't listened to them for a long time..Bass and guitar seem to kinda wander apart in key at times ..overall pretty retro cool...I dug it!

Hi Greyharmonix - Thanks for posting your song! I liked the feel and style of it - very bouncy and almost happy sounding to me. Not sure if that's what you were going for, but that's the vibe I got off of it. To me the mix seemed fine, but I am new at recording, so don't have the best ear for it yet. The vocals were good as well, but there were slight intonation problems here and there.

Good luck! You'll find this site to be very helpful and informative!

yeah this site is really informative and there's alot of topics and different forums for stuff. it's pretty cool. i got alot of free time right now so this site has been my entertainment for the holidays. :)

I'm a real newb at recording. i've been in bands a while, but recording is pretty foreign to me. i figured out bass, lead guitar and drums relativly quickly so maybe i should spend more time trying to figure out the details a little better. i wrote the song with the rhythm guitar and then added instruments around it. i just stuck a mic infront of everything then worked out the kinks in the mix. i've realized though that i should take more time with recording.

thanks for the comments.

everyone says i sound like robert smith. i can't help it. everytime someone hears me play: "it's like the cure but faster"
