I'm in the market for a new kit, and I keep seeing used Pearl World Series drums for around the right price.
Does anyone know how these Pearl World Series drums sound versus other brands/series in the same <$1000 price range (Stage Customs/ Exports/ Rockstars, etc.)?
There was a question about these in Modern Drummer awhile back. They were a good mid-level kit (the drummer from the Black Crowes played one back-in-the-day). They evolved into the various (over the years) Session series (not to be confused with the current all maple Session customs). They were either a maple/mahogany combo or an all mahogany shell. I'd definitely try em out if you can get them for cheap enough.
