im thinking about getting pre amped studio monitor speakers
one im interested in is fostex mp-1
which has xlr balanced input
how can i properly connect pc soundcard output to xlr balanced input?
i dont know what balanced nor unbalaned means
my soundcard has rca output,
is it ok to just get rca to xlr cables?
will it brake the speakers?

try a rca to xlr cable. from a pro audio store or radio shack might have them.
if your speakers break because of this then in my opinon they were not made properly in the first place.
actually it would be much simpler just to have got speakers with rca inputs in the first place. i'm surprised fostex did not include them on the product.
there are many detailed explanations of balanced and unbalanced on the internet. and on this bbs. dont get too hung up on it right now.
the only thing these days i use xlr balanced for is the mics and pre's.
all the rest is rca and quarter inch.
