While I am in the Pay It Forward thread, I want to post a thank you to 60's guy who sent me a mic (Sennheiser835)also when the Sail Away song had just started to develop.

I believe that qualifies for a Pay It Forward gear gift.

I had mentioned it on the rep thread, but think it got back-logged to eternity.

So thank you Randy !!! I loves you too !! :) :) :) :) :)
You're welkom, True, but you still sound like Janis Joplin on steroids!

I have a 1962 gibson melody maker if anyone is interested

also a standard Fender P Bass

and a vintage marlboro 562C guitar amp...
Don't know if anybody else has had communication with sweetshoes18.....when I PM'd about the bass, I was told that it actually belonged to his(?) brother, but he'd see if it was still available, and I'd hear back that night.....that was about a week or so ago, and when I tried to PM, I discovered that this person is no longer accepting PMs....
....so I'm sure that sweetshoes18 has had a good laugh, and nobody's out any money, but the spirit of the joke really runs counter to the goodness engendered by the rest of the folks in this thread, who have been loving and generous...
Yay for the good guys.....as for the rest - hey, they have to live with themselves- that's punishment enough, I think... ;) Just a heads-up to everybody else in case this name ever comes up in the Free Ads section....

Pay It Forward Free Gear To People In Need

I was inspired to start this thread from a post I read earlier in the week about a fellow HR member selling something at an awesome price because the buyer was a fellow member. Another site has something similar to this thread and it has helped many people, including myself.

Basically, if you have a piece of gear you no longer use you can post it here and if someone wants it ,the two of you can work out the details.

For example, you can post a DBX compressor here and the first person who PM's you can have it. Who pays shipping is between you and them.

What is the catch? The person who receives the gear for free has to (pay it forward) give away a piece of recording gear they are not using. The value does not have to be the same.

This is not a thread to give away junk. It's just something nice to do. The thing you no longer want might be just the thing another member is looking for.

I assume this has not been done before and I'm not violating any rules. I am doing this because I love this forum and would like to try and give something back.

I'll start this off. I have a set of Hosa TRS interconnect cables 5' long I bought them about two months ago and it was not right for my application. Free for the taking. The first to PM me gets it. You pay shipping. It's that simple.
:):):)

cool - it's been done before - no rules broke, I'm sure. I think your way (first to contact you is the taker) is the best way to do it. I gave away a DMP3 a while back in a more complicated way, and it was OK, but more work and stress than needed.
