i want to pan a pick slide (from distorted guitar) from ear to ear and then go back to the original panning (one track on the far left and one far right).....

can i do this any easy way? or am i looking at a million tracks on n-track with tiny parts of the slide on each track...panning little by little each time?! lol.

thanks
scott

thats as easy as drawing a pan envelope over the section of the track that has the pick slide......

go into Help/Content/Automation and learn about the joys of automating pan, volume, and aux channels.....

If the slidepart you want to pan is on multiple tracks, try routing them thru a subgroup, and automate the panning on the sub.

I don't know about your system but it's real easy in ProTools. If they are similar..,

If you system can playback at 1/2 speed and you can automate the pan, then the slide from L->R or visa versa can be very precise.

nice

thanks guys...the automation thing is easiest...but that 1/2 speed thing works too. thanks.

So far I like doing it freehand at 1/2 speed (and then playing back at normal speed of course). This helps me move the panned riff with the feel of the music or the vibe.
