Substance,

MXL603's (sml diaphram) may be too bright for o/heads. They are great on acoustics, etc., but may give the cymbals some unpleasant colouration.

Oktava 012's (sml diaphram) are darker sounding and would normally be more suitable as o/heads, their performance on acoustics, etc., is questionable.

Studio Projects B1's (large diaphram) would also be a good choice and can be used on numerous other sources with reasonable results.

These comments are all subject to some variation depending on the sound source and room acoustics.

Re Mp3 etc.,............try NoWhereRadio for hosting songs!!!

I know a hot little bass player who would be a great match for your drummer..........:D

aus are you the bass player? feel like moving to Alaska? ;)

Sub,

"aus are you the bass player? ........"

No, definitely not!!! It's my son's band, although I occasionally pick up a guitar and jam with them but I tend to focus on the studio side of things these days. We are guitar sluts and proud of it.........see pic.

"feel like moving to Alaska? ......."

No Way!!! Temp here lately has been in the mid 90's and above, and I have a pool to cool down in. :D

If you have the inclination, have a listen here, it was recorded 12 months ago but there was never a final mix done as the drummer and bass player "left" the band and have since been replaced.......... http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=2061&alid=-1

Please let me know when you have some mp3's available to listen to.
