Overhead mic

Can any recommend a pair of overhead mics? Price range is around $100 to $150 apiece. I saw some condensor mics for around $100, but I'm not sure if they're any good.

the MXL 603s get pretty high marks around here for use as drum overheads - and they can be had for <$100 a piece.

I have a pair of Rode NT3s and I absolutely love 'em and use them all the time as drum overheads and for stereo recording in general. They are a bit pricier ($150/piece).

I also have a pair of ecm8000s ($35/piece). They are good if you have a good room to record in. bit on the noisty side....
 
thanks, I just ordered Rode NT3. I'll get to try it out next week. It's a nice looking mic.
 
I use a pair of MXL 603s and totally love them. Crisp, clean and very detailed. Made my kit "come alive" when I started using them.
