As someone who would like to learn to play the piano, this is discouraging
Man that was simply fantastic. I just cannot and never have been able to just sit down and compose something that quickly. I have to hammer stuff out. What a great listen.
I am truly impressed
nanny nanny boo boo LMAO
Now do it again...note for note
hehe..nice work
Hey Jag!!!!
Nahhhh!! discouraging!!!Sheeeeit! Just get yourself a good teacher!
If you were my piano student, I'd have you doing this kind of improvisational composition on the first lesson!!!You've already got your shit together as a fine musician..( I'd simply show you some techniques on scale and chord manipulation)
Thanks dude....note for note????having to transcribe this one would spoil the fun!!hehehe
Nice chops man. The tune has a lot of cool moments. The piano sound is pretty convincing. I used to work with a guy from NY named Richard Rifkin who had a very similar style. Hopefully your not as crazy as he is
....Excellent...
..also listened to 'Bedlam' and 'Red Wine..'
...very cool...I dig that jazz/easy listenin' stuff...also the drums are very good...do tell, - what are they?
Glad you dug it.
Yeah, on Bedlam, Red White & B3 & JacKerouac , All drum & percussion sounds come from my keyboard patches. Roland U-20, JV-1000 & a Korg XC. After looping the basic patterns, then recording all the other instruments, I always go back & do a separate track for kicks, accents..etc etc.
Seems like my fourteen fingered friend has something new posted every time I manage to get to the clinic! Ralph, man that is smokin improv! It's goin on a CD for my personal listening pleasure. You RULE...........funny, while I was listening I imagined you sittin at the keys in a bar doin that. You know the scene....sloppy ass drunk sittin nearby...D.u..Dude....can you play Billt..uh Billy Joel?
bd
Yeah, that shit used to happen when I did the piano bar scene. That's why I only do general business gigs now....(corporates, weddings, anniversaries, etc etc... as I get to play all styes including classical, originals, jazz, etc without drunken slobs screaming out "BILLY" or "ELTON" every 5 seconds. and people appreciate me @ the 'classier' gigs much more!
LMAO......but wtf is "teste-nomial"?....some people might think you are were referring to my testes or abnormally high testosterone levels....... ....just shittin ya...
I know you were simply verifying the crazy fun we had @ recording your latest thread.
BTW...I've been on the wagon since that night as that, my friend, resulted in a 2-DAY hangover Bigtime fun, and you are a very cool cat!
Sheesh man you are one world class monstrous cat. What can I say? Very awesome improv-Some nice Bill Evans'y kinda spacey chord stuff-with a little Monk sense of humor(your a dirty robber)-with some nice wailing. You are the real deal sir.
Drops a big virtual cyber tip in Flat 9's tip jar!

HAHHAHAHAHHAHHA! Hope it was a cyber sawbuck and not a cyber plug nickel!
Yeah, Thelonius & Bill are both two of the many cats I admired ( musically only, sorry to say, as they were jerks as caring human beings )and have transcribed through the years...... very nice and well informed compliment Strat!
I listened to this a while ago and just realized I never responded.. Great piece of musicianship here.. really enjoyed it! I hope you continue to post stuff like this.. this is what the stars are for..
