That was some awesome improv.
I'm excited to have had any part in its creation, particularly the inspirational angle. :D
I like that snazzy change right at 7:06.
Nothing canned here. All fresh. And very tasty.
Again at 1:35 for that stormin' section. A few clams here and there, but it's so good that I'd probably not bother going on a MIDI search & destroy mission for them. It adds a little edge of the sort you know I like.... :)

YOU INSPIRED THE WHOLE FUCKING THING!!!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU , DOCTOR! AND I MEAN IT!!!!!! NO sarcasm here @ all my friend! You motivated me to post somthing I thought might be to far to the left for this board......Thank you again!!!!!

I love you man!

Thanks for fueling my fire , as I've heard this shit from my "homeys"..............but need to hear it from cats like you......not from an egotistical point of view, simply from a mutually respected point of view from across the world! Not to put my Boston homeys down @ all.................but to hear it from YOU, and all the others I respect on this board............man, it means the world t' me;) ;) ;)

Thanks for fueling my fire..............

if i could play any instrument that well, i'd never leave the house.

you are blessed. thanks for sharing that. i could listen to that kind of thing all day. i'm burning this one for the ride to work.

by the way, have you ever noticed the piano player in the background of the mr. rogers show? my kid (he's 2) likes mr. rogers a lot lately and i noticed the guy who's playing piano during the show is pretty damn good.

and on the topic of crazy piano music, do you ever listen to oliver messian?

Nice chops man. The tune has a lot of cool moments. The piano sound is pretty convincing. I used to work with a guy from NY named Richard Rifkin who had a very similar style. Hopefully your not as crazy as he is :D

At least he's not Joel Riftkin. LOL thinking about the Seinfeld episode.

....Excellent...

..also listened to 'Bedlam' and 'Red Wine..'
...very cool...I dig that jazz/easy listenin' stuff...also the drums are very good...do tell, - what are they?

Please be patient w/ me as I'm giggin my ass off right now....Also many of you have tunes posted that are on my 'must listen to' list which I promise to get to even if I gotta dig em out of P2,3 or 4 at a later time.

Sincerely,
Ralph :) :) :)

Also my daughter Julia is going to the Youth Soccer State Championships in a few weeks....Boy do I love watching these kids play.....I get so into it that after last nites clincher, I trashed my voice from screaming so much ( all positive )

See you all soon! It 'll be hit or miss for a stretch here:(

Seems like my fourteen fingered friend has something new posted every time I manage to get to the clinic! Ralph, man that is smokin improv! It's goin on a CD for my personal listening pleasure. You know the scene....sloppy ass drunk sittin nearby...D.u..Dude....can you play Billt..uh Billy Joel?

[BNice..........nice transitions between different rhythmic sections......Very[/I] nice chops and really good improvisation which, to me, is the main thing I look for in a player....You're in Florida aren't you? I come there a lot and I'm gonna have to look you up.....nice playing for sure.
EDIT: No I just looked,..... Massachusetts? ... Well I suppose I won't be looking you up any time soon....guess it'll have to be via internet. :) [/B]

Thanks Steve,

Yeah via computer for now:( ....but ya never know....down the road..... ;) ;) ;)

Great job, Ralph!
I just thought of something...you slam this on tape in 9 minutes....if I had to play it it would take me 10 years to program! LOL :D
What a delight it must be to have fingers like yours... :D
One thing though....(it surely is a good sounding patch), but don't you, mr. Pianoman, have a real piano? :)

Thanks Tjarko,

Yeah, I have 3 'real pianos' @ my teaching studio and have used them on previously recorded stuff, but the Korg that I have in my home recording studio is the 'flagship' of this company....I LOVE the feel, response & tone quality. It is also sooooo much easier to record than an acoustic :D :D :D

Peace,
Silly little New England boy

Excellent stuff Ralph. That's real entertainment to just listen to a real master just doin his thang. Don't ever hesitate to post something like this. A ton of fun. I loved the boogie woogie stuff.
Twist

Thanks twist!

Yeah, when I developed tendonitis in my right arm 25 years ago,
my teacher had me doing left hand transcriptions of basslines, boogie, stride etc..for 9 months straight. ( makes me feel almost glad the right arm needed a rest ;)
