Good asio drivers will get you under 6 msec of actual roundtrip latency even thru plugins.

So does that mean I'm SOL with my Presonus Firestudio?

for monitoring thru plugs, somewhat, though I hear there are hacks where the safety buffer can be bypassed.

Last I checked the monitor had some of ASIO DM implemented though, so without fx you could monitor thru in realtime I think

The realtime monitor mixer on the firestudio is awesome. Would be nice to wet the signal a bit though. I may be able to run outbord effects Post on the firestudio using the I/O on it.

Well, outboard gear has a better QB and defensive line, but plugins have that running back and a phenomenal secondary. It may come down to coaching or simply home field advantage, or 'whoever wants it more.'

Whoever has the best Offensive Line wins 90% of the time.
