This machine is the "Tonschreiber". Built and designed by the German Magnetophone company (as far as i know).
These machines were used for broadcasting propaganda speeches and martial music during the second world war. And the sound quality of these machines were far better (at that time) than anything the allies had.
I havent been able to find any other information on it, just this image and some background info, if you look closely you will notice that the reel retainers look very much like the ones found on the early Nagra tape recorders.
