I have 8 xlr to TRS cables to inputs and 8 to outputs.
how I have to solder wires on xlr connector?
is pin 3 hot???
...and pin 1 and 2 are soldered together?
I did this and I cannot hear the difference between using basic cable or modified cable?????

what's wrong?

I have Otaris manual..

Toni.

yeah I believe pin 3 is hot.

you shouldn't necessarily hear a difference at all, the polarity is simply reversed. I had to solder new XLRs on my snake for my 5050-8, but my snake didn't work at all the way it was wired stock (pin 2 hot I think?).

You probably could have left it the way it was if it worked.

Pin 3 is hot. The inputs are also unbalanced, despite being on XLR connections. I just soldered up a XLR-TRS snake a couple hours ago for my new (to me) 5050. Are the outputs on whatever you are sending signal from balanced or unbalanced?

Yo!

okay I'll solder my all cables to pin 3 as hot and pin 1 and 2 to cold.

thanks! :D
