It is when there's a manual! :)
Have you ever read those manuals written in Russian, translated into Japanese then from there to English ?
Seriously though, sometimes, manuals are so confusing or not straightforward that it's actually better to risk being roasted at HR.......At least you get an answer, once the humiliation has died down !!

Yeah, I guess you're right.

Although it would be entertaining to see a manual that has been translated from Russian--Japanese--English! :D

Having struggled for almost an entire afternoon with one some years ago, believe me, it's an overrated experience !

I thought that was the philosophy behind manuals for all Boss products? Only Japanese to Russian to English, to make sure everything gets lost in translation.....

Technically they tell you how to do everything, but never why you'd want to...

They're good resources, but there's a real need for a decent user guide with some of their complex bits and pieces... but I guess that's what forums are for... hey?

OK, I read almost half of the whole first page of this thread, and still nobody's answered the damn question!!!

What's with the profanity? Why not just answer with normal English.....or not?

I realize some folks want to short cut, and are probably lazy, but it really isn't all that hard to reply in decent English. Once something is entered in the cyber realm it's more than likely there forever!

A little "class" never hurts.

Just my opinion. Bill Duncan

Lest we forget.
But only sometimes.

I think one aspect that has been overlooked in regards to the fast food mentality of newbies is, that they are, from the start, with the advertisements and some of the supply stores being mislead into believing that it IS that simple and they CAN record like the pro's in no time at all, if they just buy "this gear". Just read some of the ads for low and mid grade gear on some sites. Then they compare specs that sometimes have nothing to do with the real world (But these headphones must be better, they have a range of 15Hz to 20kHz and the others only have 30Hz to 20kHz).

Not that advertising and sales practices are the main to blame, but I believe it plays a part in the problem....
