OT: Why wan't you tell me the answer?

I think this is assumption rather than truth. TMZ will show you the dumb, crazy, ostentatious, party stuff that "stars" get up to but they don't bother with the 3 hours of vocal/music training/practice followed by dance/choreography for a couple of hours every day or whatever it may be because that wouldn't make for shocking, rating worthy TV but it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. We're just led to assume that the crazy party stuff is all that happens
You're both right. It's an assumption {and a wrong one in my opinion} that the pop stars and actors don't work hard. Even the manufactured ones have to work hard because maintaining an image with no real ability to do what you're pretending takes probably more work than if you at least have the talent/bent for that particular endeavour.
But it's equally true that youngsters are fed a particular slant which they buy. They don't see the hard work that goes into what they idolize. Even in a one hour "Justin" type documentary, the reality doesn't necesarilly come across. And sometimes, in recording, it can be presented as kind of instant and easy.
Those that espouse the lousy attitude get a rude awakening here though !! Although I also think that even with some snotty n0:mad:bs, or people with a language barrier or those not confident in net communication skills or some that may be overly sensitive, a little patience on some of our parts does no harm.

Use a standalone 4 track cassette portastudio. You can smash them pretty hard and the resultant distortion and saturation can't be emulated by any digital plug in !!

Newbies rarely read stickes....that's a proven fact. That's why they usually ask Rec 101 questions.

Wow, is this not, the most entertaining topic here?? You guys should tease more, this is too fun!! WAIT!! Am I too late?? :)

"Ummmmm I have a problem recording this track, when I play the guitar. It was making this buzzing noise, so I slammed my fist again the computer really hard, and now Im getting nothing at all. What should do? HELP!!" :)

Shut up ..... or I'll throw a rock at your house.

My favourites at the moment are the ones who quote, in infinite detail, the specs of their gamer's laptop (it has like 32 GB of HotChiliRam, man... and a totallu wikkid hard drive that spins so fast no-one's ever managed to express it in RPM...) and then tell you about their original 50's Les Paul played through a boutique amp hand-wired by virgins on the eastern slopes of some idyllic mountain in Italy....

and then refuse to countenance spending more than $100 on the stuff that gets the sound from source to 'puter...

Good luck with that chum(p)..;)

I'm gonna put this smiley here so we can just copy and paste when people ask the ridiculous questions....

Lets see how that worked......

How do you get that smiley to post up without the 'attached images' mumbo jumbo?

I right-click on it (wherever it is on the big, vast interwebs), hit copy image url, and then paste that in the insert image box!

They deleted him completely because they thought he was a troll. Somehow.
