Opinions on studio acoustic kit

honestly the phospher bronze in the 6.5 sounds very woody compared to most metal snares. Even my 13x5 sounds a little woody.

It's really hard to tell you which to go with, these two snares are my favorite and it's hard to choose between them.

and it does sound woody

There's a black panther phospher bronze and a precious metals phospher bronze.
However, when I got the precious metals one, it came in a black panther box.

I don't know if there is a real difference except for the badge on the side..

Mine actually has a black panther sticker on the inside of the shell that says 8/2000. so i don't know if there is actually a difference.

yeah. I didn't know what to think about it. I have the small white sticker inside as well, and it came in a black panther box. I don't get why they have completely different badges for the same exact drum. Who knows..

I actually bought a Gretsch Catalina Birch set a few years ago for studio use. I'm no drummer, but from what I can gather it's a good set. Cost me around $500.
