I think next year, you need to do one that's half acoustic, half electric, since the new power plants are suppose to be nearly 50/50 between fuel/electrical outputs.
🏎️

Not sure how to describe the texture of the guitars is awesome. I like the eb and flow kinda feel too.

so this was the 1st song i recorded right after i got this custom Tele built...
Fralin split blade in the bridge, P-92 in the neck.
musikraft neck, catalpa body, some obvious custom wiring.

i was trying to see how i could stack this guitar with different amp setups;
3 different rhythm setups, Vox ac-30 left, marshall plexi right, a few parts added here and there with a Fender Deluxe, and the solos are all the Plexi with a little drive from a Barber Direct Drive Super Sport.

this was my first experiment at trying to find some signature Tele tones, after years of NOT playing a tele!!

this tele is my new favorite, for sure.

ha! yes, i think that's a grand idea.

if i don't drive the gain on the electric part too much, and i compress the acoustic just enough,
they'd blend beautifully.

well shucks, you've just given me my idea for the next one!
i guess i'll have to see how i feel about those new car designs after i see the first race!!
i hope they don't sound... small.

Sounds great, tasty playing as always, everything sounds awesome, love the kind of swagger groove !

Thanks BT, I was hoping that mix would let the tele shine. When I layer or hard pan, I try to pay attention to the eq of both tracks, and do a little bit of carving...

The blend is important.

hi stratmonkee, thanks for the comments.
yea, that drum groove, i worked on for a bit...
it was kinda hard to find the right approach, so that it didn't come off like a ballad, being as slow as it is.
i was influenced by the silly pomp and circumstance of the celebration, at the end, when the winner is standing for their national anthem.
and then they drink the champange (sort of)
LOL

Dig the epic feel of this composition. Fits the subject matter. Seems like I may have said that before about this track - can't remember. maybe at the planet.

But I really like this one even more - hope you don't mind me dropping this here - if so just let me know and I'll make it go away. It's just such a rawker!

hi porterhouse!!
long time we've known each other...
i appreciate your thoughts and comments on my stuff, you've seen it develop or several years, decades even!

LOL
now i feel old

the 'epic' feel was definitely intentional.
it's like a somber moment at the end of a battle.
but hopefully, nobody got hurt!!
heheh
at the end of the season, or at the end of each race, they have all that pomp and circumstance at the podium,
playing the national anthems and all...
i tried to recreate the feel of that buildup, without the silly stuff at the end, when they squirt each other with the champagne.

but also, i'm thinking songs like zeppelin, and i tried my hand at a 'page-esqe' riff in the song, just a nod to jimmy, who was such a big influence.

it's the riff at 1:51, just thru that one section. i was thinking something like achilles last stand, or the wanton song.

Bit of a satriani vibe to this one. Intentional?
hey frank, thank you for listening!!

you know, i love satch..
been a fan from day one.

but he's never been an influence.
so if something sounds familiar, it's just that thing about every song has been written 12 times over, and sooner or later, threads cross.

probably beethoven covered a good 90% of what's usable.
heheh
