Solved Only 7 posts

In a thread in my own post it shows, below join date and location that I only have 7 posts, but I infact this will be my 25th post. I can see so in the User CP. Could someone explain this to me?
And what does registered user mean, when in the members list almost everyone is a newbie?

You have 17 posts in the Cave. Cave posts don't count towards your post total.

Before Dragon changed the software new users were tagged as newbies and became Registered users after, I think 50 posts. So anyone who joined before then but has not yet reached 50 posts is a newbie, but all new members now start as registered users.( I think I'm right )
