what are the advantages / disadvantages of using a stereo preamp versus using two mono preamps?

And what's "stereo-linking"?

Cheers

The stereo pre will share a common power supply, so you'll save some money on that aspect.

There's certainly no difference in sound - 2 Great River ME1-NV's are equal to to 1 MP2-NV.......

When engaged, both channels are controlled by only one set of controls.... (makes level calibration for stereo sources a little easier)

Does anyone know if you can stereo link effect plug ins like EQ and reverb with Protools? I know how to create groups and with motorised faders this means if you group ch 1 and ch2 then you only need to use one fader and the other follows in relation to it. Would be pretty handy linking effects. But i suppose it aint a big deal if Protools doesnt have this function.
