NitzerEbb - Lightning Man
KMFDM (many songs)

come to mind. Can also hear the Ministry comparison...

( first version : )
Yea this is a driving song  bouncin the speedometer needle as I cruise past the state trooper :) Just skimmed the other replies, but IMO the vox would work better with less 'verb. Just one more general mix comment -- sounds like the mix needs "opened up" -- it's like it's claustrophobic, or something.

Cool tune tho

Man, I appreciate everyones input on this song. Im gonna try a little experimentation on panning. I think it will help widen the mix some. And maybe a tad of dist. on the verse vocals.

Experimenting - Experimenting.

Thanks again. I'll post the remix hopefully tonight.

can you replace the drums? i know this is more of a techno/mosh (i hear minisry as well) type song but i think it would be pretty cool with some more live sounding drums

cool song

Sondriven,
You got a cool sounding song here. Reminds me of earlier Marilyn Manson. I don't really think the delay or vocal sound you are getting, sounds bad for a song of this type but I have issues with the vocal performance. The vocals remind me of someone just sitting around humming over a cd or something. They aren't near as powerful as the music and it makes them stick out in my opinion. I don't sing so i can't really offer any advice in that area, but I would definantly take it up a notch. Do something to make them sound not so nice and spoken word. Overall its a good track though.

Honestly thinking about the vocal performance is difficult for me. I live in an apartment complex and really dont have any where else to record. I feel if I start yelling and singing any louder, the neighbors are gonna call the fuzz......

anyone else have this dilema?

I dont know if there is a cure......

Thanks for the feedback Wire.

Erich,

The only way to put real drums in this song is to have someone play it. Im sure if a drummer played to a click track all with the performance it might work. But it would probably easier to track it all. The guitar only took about 2 or 3 takes. It probably shows but Im not going for complete perfection just a good sound.

Im performing my first live mini-show next Friday. Im making backing bass and drum tracks to play along with. I gotta do something to try and find bandmates. Here in Michigan its hard to find people in my area.

Thanks for listening.

Vocal performance

Sondriven,
I live in rural georgia so i don't run into to many problems when I track my bands vocalist who screams alot. Only advice i can offer you is to try and get loud once, see if the neighbors get pissed. I guess you won't know untill you find out. Just try and do your vocals during the day when most people are at work. If they do call the cops maybe you will get your take before they show up lol. Maybe try getting in a closet or something? I don't really know.

On the way home from work today I was giving it everything I had and yes the next post will be worth the 15 minutes it takes to download.

The neighbors will just have to understand its for a good cause.

Peace
