I have looked into several microphones and found a couple that are in my pricerange, but don't have any expierence with any of them. Which one would be worth the money you suppose, looking for any opinions really. Thanks!

And a couple AKG mic's. I am using one mic in the middle of the room to pick up my band surrounding it basically. From what I know I would want to get an omnidirectional to pick us up in all directions and a condensor to pick up everything? Please correct me if I'm wrong and going about this the wrong way. Thanks again!

KSM27 is cardioid only.

If you're looking for a realistic sounding omni, go for the Avenson STO-2 pair. It appears to be in your price range, and you get 2 of them. Very realistic sounding omni mics, great room mics etc.

Hmmm, what are you recording?

I am recording the drums, guitar and bass with one mic in the center of us. We have been using some cheap mic we found in the drummer's basement into an old tape deck. I have two inputs for mics, one is going to be for the vocalist.
