Omni-Studio, E-mu 1820M, etc ...

Hey all,

I'm looking to finally buy a sound card to record for personal use. I am looking for decent sound but I do have a budget. Hopefully around 150, give or take 50 dollars.

I am going to need to record

1 mic definitely
1 bass
1 guitar
1 mic or guitar
1 keyboard that has midi out (only sometimes...not a definite requirement but would like to have the option)

I have been looking at the Omni Studio and the E-mu 1820M...but i am confused what they offer.
I know that the Omni offers 4 ins and 4 outs and 2 have preamps for mics.

I am confussed as to what each one offers and if it fits my needs...

Anyone recommend anything else or suggest anything?

Do you need to record that stuff all at the same time, or individually?

At the same time would be nice but i could do things seperately. Now sure what the pros and cons are. Obviously a con is that I am not proficient in audio software but i could easily get to learn it i'm sure.
