So, I had this old LP copy from some no name brand, but the body was a tank. The neck wasn't. I snapped it twice, then it went into a box, never to be seen again. Oddly enough, I found it a couple weeks ago, and I was given an old neck that just happened to fit it, so I think I will bring it back (as I do have enough spare pots and jacks n' such anyway). I'm looking at pickups though. I already have a guitar with some nice gibson pickups (burstbucker #2 and a seymour duncan super distortion) and I want to get some PRS pickups. I've only been able to find the McCarty's on any of the guitars at any of the local places, and I don't really trust the clips so much on the site, sinec they weren't how that guitar sounded at all. I'm really looking for a distortion that when it's heard you know you're hearing a rock and roll guitar, not too gritty or thrashy. Suggestions?

Why don't you consider Gibson P-100s or some other P-90 type pickup designed to fit the existing rout. That would give you a really different sound to play with.

I have a DiMarzzio Steve Morse humbucker I am looking to unload cheap.
