Okay I don’t want to be a pest...(re Acid Pro 3)

…but I seem to have run out of things to try or manual instructions to read when it comes to putting sounds in the song track view. I realize I can draw or paint the entire sample onto the track, but isn’t there a way to get just the highlighted part of the sample track up to the song track? Like just the looped part, or something?

Read up on the beat slicer!

You can also just paint a portion of the clip onto the track and drag the (left and right) edges of the clip to zero in on just the section (delineated in measures) you want to hear on the track. Use the snap or turn it off depending on what you want to accomplish.

That's why the most convenient samples are just a measure or two and some are just one beat.

Shame on you doc, "Beat Slicer" is FruityLoop speak. ;)

In Acid it's called the Chopper. I think they do the same thing, though.

Better than a set of Ginsu knives.

Monty.. I suggest you go and cheque your mail. There might be a check in it.

No promises though.

Right You Are Bradley!

Had it confused with the "Beat Mapper" moniker.

But not being from the "Fruity" fold I can't have gotten it confused with any of their terminology.

"Chopper" is so much more macho!

It is more macho, isn't it?

You can hear (read) it:

I like to slice up beats in Fruity!

vs.

I CHOP RHYTHMS IN ACID

Interior decorator vs. construction worker. Ha!

Hey, wait! I can't make fun of FruityLoops too much - I use that program also

Good, now everyones happy...

Now, you need to go and have an enema!

Ya, thanks Dr. That's the ticket! That's more like what I was expecting from this program.
